As you start to grow as a creator, it will come with it's upsides and it's downsides. We have made this resource to help creators stay safe online and ways you can help protect your privacy.
First and foremost, it is recommended that you use an online alias / gamertag instead of your real name online. If you need to change your username, you can do this via your account settings on Brime.
Second, even though you may use an online alias... it is still possible for individuals to find information about you online. We recommend that you revisit the privacy settings of all of your personal social media accounts, such as that Facebook profile you setup to connect with your friends & family. On these profiles we suggest you make sure no one (or only your friends) can see your friends list, about me (where you work, live, relationship status, etc), and you might want to even consider making your entire profile private / friends only with friend requests on. People may be able to find personally identifiable information about you or your family by looking at photos you are tagged in, your last name, and more.
Lastly, after going through those old profiles you made years ago & informing your family on how to also stay safe online, we recommend some of the following services that will delete most if not all of a lot of personal information about you that can be found online.
We hope this was useful and will be sure to update this overtime with more tips & resources for you to stay safe online!
